Data Reliability Guide
Understanding data confidence levels
✓ Verified — from official filings
Data that was directly retrieved from an official source URL: SEC 10-K/10-Q, Tadawul annual report, CMA disclosure, or company investor relations page. These numbers can be checked by clicking the source link. Still verify named individuals and specific transaction amounts directly from the filing.
~ Sourced — from news or analyst reports
Data retrieved from financial news, analyst reports, or financial data aggregators (Bloomberg, Reuters, Yahoo Finance, Argaam). Generally reliable but may reflect estimates or may have a time lag. Cross-check with official filings before making a decision.
⚠ Estimated — AI model inference
Qualitative assessments, fair value estimates, and scenario assumptions generated by the AI model. These are analytical opinions, not facts. They can be wrong. Never rely on AI-inferred board member names, specific transaction amounts, or governance assessments without independent verification from official filings.
What the AI can hallucinate
Specific financial figures · Board member names and roles · Transaction amounts · Dates of filings · Governance compliance status · Analyst price targets · Earnings beat/miss details. Always click through to the source before acting on any specific number.
Analyst consensus vs tool target
The tool shows two price targets side by side: its own model estimate (DCF / relative valuation) and the analyst consensus target (average of broker targets found in search). A large gap between them is normal — it reflects different methodologies, not an error. DCF is sensitive to WACC and terminal growth assumptions. Analyst targets are forward-looking and reflect expected catalysts. Always understand which you are using and why.
☽ Islamic banking mode
When the analyzed stock is an Islamic bank (e.g. Al Rajhi 1120, Al Inma 1150, Al Bilad 1140), the tool automatically activates Islamic Banking Mode. Conventional metrics that do not apply to Shariah-compliant banks are replaced:
Net Interest Margin (NIM)
→ Net Financing Income
Interest Income
→ Profit Sharing Ratio
Debt / Equity ratio
→ Capital Adequacy Ratio
Loan-to-Deposit Ratio
→ Finance-to-Deposit Ratio
Why some "Verified" labels become "Sourced"
The tool cannot open annual report PDFs or log into Tadawul's member portal. When data is retrieved from a web page that summarises an annual report (e.g. Argaam, StockAnalysis, GuruFocus), it is automatically reclassified from ✓ Verified to ~ Sourced. Only data with a direct, clickable URL to the official filing document retains the green Verified badge. This is intentional — it prevents users from believing data is more authoritative than it is.
